Bathroom Installation in Cardiff: A Realistic Step-by-Step Timeline

A full bathroom refit sounds daunting. In reality most Cardiff bathrooms run to a predictable rhythm — here's how a job with us typically goes.

Before we start We measure up, talk through layout, and flag anything structural early: soil pipe positions, joist runs under a new shower tray, and whether your water flow will support the shower you want. Ordering everything before day one is what keeps a job moving.

Days 1–2: strip out and first fix Old suite out, waste and floor protection down, then first fix plumbing and electrics — pipework for the new layout, shower feed, towel rail, extractor and lighting circuits.

Days 3–4: boarding, trays and tiling prep Tanking around wet areas, level tray or former set, walls boarded and made flat. Getting this stage right is the whole difference between a bathroom that lasts fifteen years and one that leaks in two.

Days 5–7: tiling and second fix Tiling, then the suite goes in: WC, basin and vanity, bath or enclosure, taps, shower valve, towel rail. Electrics tested and certified.

Final day: sealing, testing and clean Silicone, full leak test, everything run for an hour, and a clean-down. We clear the site as we go rather than at the end.

Small Cardiff bathrooms Terraced bathrooms are often narrow. Wall-hung vanity units, a walk-in shower instead of a bath, and large-format tiles with fewer grout lines all make a small room feel considerably bigger. Bath-to-shower conversions are one of our most requested jobs in Cardiff.
